The Municipalities in Transition (MiT) project team developed a systemic methodology to provide local communities an experiential and community-led way to develop future-oriented ecological and social solutions. Successfully tested in 6 pilots worldwide and now spreading in new pioneer communities, the MiT team aims to trigger deep and permanent cultural change where the best result is to see the system becoming completely integrated in the local environment without the need of an external support.
In this conversation we will introduce you to what is the MiT project, what it is doing at the moment and open up a space to share ideas and experiences.
UrbanA aims to:
synthesise and broker knowledge for sustainable and just cities generated by prior research and innovation projects and translate this knowledge into action
empower participants to apply this knowledge locally
facilitate interaction among diverse participants
influence policies in favour of sustainable and just cities.
It is a 3-year project funded by the European Commission and led by a consortium of seven partners.
