Cities need help to address critical data, innovation and technological gaps to accelerate ambitious climate action, especially as we navigate through a global economic recovery. Through a foundational partnership with Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, the Environmental Insights Explorer was founded on the idea that Google’s data and technologies can help accelerate the actions, industries, and investments to fight the climate crisis, better support city policy making efforts, and help accelerate the world’s transition to a low-carbon future.
GCoM and Google will be hosting a virtual roundtable discussion on September 30, 2020 with local leaders. Broadcasted over Youtube, we will discuss the importance of supporting cities through a global green recovery, share lessons from cities on the forefront of using new insights, and identify key opportunities to make data available at scale.
