Santiago/Bonn/Madrid, (5 November 2019) -- On Friday, 1 November 2019, the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) accepted the proposal from the Government of Chile to hold the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Madrid, which was made possible by the generous offer by the Government of the Kingdom of Spain. The following is an information update to facilitate participation:
COP25 will take place from 2 to 13 December 2019 at IFEMA - Feria de Madrid (https://www.ifema.es/en), Avda. del Partenón, 5 28042 Madrid, Spain.
The conference will take place under the Presidency of the Government of Chile and will be held with logistical support from the Government of Spain. The President-designate for the conference is Ms. Carolina Schmidt, Minister of Environment of Chile.
