ICLEI Members gain from the broad knowledge and expertise within the ICLEI Network. Gain advantage through our training and consultancy services for developing overall local sustainability strategies from Disaster Risk Reduction in the Pacific Islands to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.

ICLEI Members not only have the opportunity to participate in ICLEI’s international campaigns and projects but also enjoy the opportunity to play a role in the design and pilot phases of these. Our Members are also among the first to be approached about getting involved in suitable projects to test or develop sustainability measures and tools that further help cities in achieving their sustainability goals.

ICLEI Members are part of a worldwide network of local government representatives that are tackling similar challenges. They meet at workshops, webinars and conferences around the world and online. Funding assistance for travel to international ICLEI events may be available depending on event budgets.

Process

As an organisation committed to promoting sustainable urban development, ICLEI Oceania welcomes local and regional governments, as well as their global, regional, national, and subnational associations to join our network of more than 2,500 like-minded members worldwide.

Step 1

Determine the annual membership fee for your local government by referring to the fee structure document – click on the Member Fee Structure button on the top right-hand side of this webpage. Please note: Our membership package will soon be updated in line with ICLEI’s new Strategic Vision and our increased service offerings.

Step 2

Download and complete the membership application and email it to admin.oceania@iclei.org.

Don’t forget to include a copy of the memo to Council or minutes of Council Endorsement with your application!

Step 3

After receiving your application, one of the ICLEI Oceania team will contact your Council to confirm the membership fee. Your municipality will be considered an ICLEI Member after the application is processed, Council meeting minutes or Council memo are received, and the membership fee is transferred
