Nasinu is Fiji’s largest municipality by population and land area, functioning as a major economic centre. However, it faces severe climate threats primarily driven by rising sea levels, increased coastal inundation and extreme rainfall events. In response, the council’s current strategic plan prioritises creating an equal, sustainable and resilient city by 2030. Together with ICLEI Oceania, Nasinu aims to access the knowledge, tools and partnerships needed to support the implementation of its strategic vision.
