Kiribati Local Government Association (KILGA)

The Kiribati Local Government Association (KILGA) was established in 2012 as a forum for local government in the Republic of Kiribati. Recognised by the national government, it serves both urban and rural councils through their mayors. KILGA is strongly focused on building the capacity of its members and acts as a promoter and provider of local government services and networks. Its main objectives include promoting the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthening island resilience. In collaboration with ICLEI on the Green and Blue Development Project, KILGA aims to enhance climate resilience through community-led solutions.
