Known as the Wildlife Capital of New Zealand, Dunedin (Ōtepoti) is renowned for biodiversity, heritage, and dramatic landscapes. Dunedin was one of the first councils globally to divest from fossil fuels (2014) and aims for net-zero emissions by 2030. Through the South Dunedin Future and Zero Carbon programmes, the Council addresses both mitigation and adaptation.
