We’re excited to announce that ICLEI Oceania, together with the Global Covenant of Mayors, will be hosting the Mayors’ Climate Action for Australian Council of Local Government Forum. This important event, scheduled for May 30th, brings together key stakeholders to address climate change challenges and map out a sustainable future for local governments across Australia.

The Forum will focus on three key objectives:

  1. Establishing a comprehensive climate policy framework.
  2. Forging effective partnerships between local governments and the Federal Government.
  3. Allocating resources for resilience and emissions mitigation.

The forum will culminate in a Mayoral Statement that emphasizes the urgency of climate action. This statement will be presented at the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) meeting later in the year.

Join us, along with mayors, deputy mayors, local government representatives, and influential support groups such as Better Futures Australia, Climate Emergency Australia, Cities Power Partnership, C40 Cities, and Climateworks, as we shape the future of climate action.
