ICLEI Oceania partners with Informed.City
ICLEI Oceania is pleased to announce a partnership with Informed.City, a business helping cities use data to support informed decision-making to shape resilient and sustainable futures. In 2020, Informed.City won innovator of the year for the Climate Alliance Awards.
Informed.City is known for its Informed.City™ Governance Assessment platform, an award-winning process used to assess how organisations mainstream climate change in their governance and planning. The tool has been used with over 350 local governments in Australia and New Zealand.
The Assessment tool can provide a quick diagnostic and be used for deeper analysis relevant to managers and staff, and can be an essential part of a city’s public disclosure of climate-related risk. Ultimately, the tool helps cities better plan for cascading and emergent risks, aligning closely with ICLEI’s Five Pathways.
This partnership provides additional support to councils that are signatories to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) or have declared a Climate Emergency or similar. Informed.City’s Governance Assessment platform supports adaptation and risk assessment work, which is an essential component of the GCoM Common Reporting Framework.
The partnership with Informed.City will allow ICLEI Oceania to provide greater support to its members, GCoM signatories and other councils committed to climate action, ensuring that decision-makers are empowered to make the most informed decisions possible for the sustainable future of their communities.
