Transformative Action in the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals

  • ICLEI Oceania Level 8, 225 Bourke Street Melbourne, 3000 Australia (map)

Wednesday, April 27, 2022 12:00 PM 1:30 PM

The United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals provide a common language and global framework to interconnect diverse local priorities into a global framework that is the roadmap for the transformation to a climate safe and sustainable future. Whether you are tackling climate action to circular economy, the SDGs provide a way to connect locally and culturally relevant priorities into long-term, global strategy.

This one hour interactive webinar will be an opportunity for local government and economic development professionals to:

  • Understand what the SDGs mean for local governments

  • Share case studies on the SDGs in action including Hawaii, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.

  • Provide an overview of how Local Governments professionals can get involved in deeper learning such as through the SDGs Cities Challenge.

  • Snapshot on Climate Action: Local Government leadership in the decisive decade for climate action including the Cities Race to Zero and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.
